Happy Tuesday, everyone!
I realize that, though this site largely documents my personal style, it is also a space of inspiration. Opening my closet every day and seeing the wardrobe that I’ve built over time—the “curation” of my wardrobe, if you will—is so inspiring to me. This daily act allows me to express myself in any way that I desire and it is my hope that, by documenting my style and the wardrobe choices that I make, this blog space is inspiring to you, as well.
So, today, I’d like to give you a glimpse of who inspires me. Caroline Issa and Julia Sarr-Jamois are two fashion editors whose style I adore:
Caroline Issa’s aesthetic is very similar to my own. She has this incredible balance of being polished (with lipstick, heels, and great hairstyles) and boyish (with tailored, menswear-inspired pieces).
Julia Sarr-Jamois’s style is just…everything, as well. Whether she’s chilling in relaxed denim or mixing prints, her style is unmistakably her own. And….that hair! I mean, come on. When I cut off all of my hair two and a half years ago to grow out my natural curls, Julia’s gorgeous locks were my first hair inspiration. I am so looking forward to the day that my hair is that big.
As a tomboy, myself, it’s clear that I gravitate toward the styles of women who can also pull off boyish pieces. More than that, however, Caroline Issa and Julia Sarr-Jamois have unmistakable style. They look terrific in their clothes, but there is also an air of effortlessness. These are the ladies that I’m inspired by.
